Home > Introduction
Professor Hong He’s research group is committed to fundamental and applied research in environmental catalysis and its application in the control of air pollution complex. His research team focuses on the basic science issues of heterogeneous transformation of pollutants in environmental catalysis and multi-phase reaction process in atmospheric chemistry. In terms of research methods, his research team adopts a combination of theory and experiment, advanced surface/interface science methods to characterize the catalytic reaction in situ, assisted by theoretical model calculations. Based on these fundamental achievements, his research team tries to develop new theory and technology for the control of mobile/stationary source and indoor air pollution, to provide scientific and technical support for the control of air pollution complex.

Since 2003, the Center for Air Pollution Control Technology led by Academician Prof. Hong He has published more than 500 peer-reviewed scientific articles in international journals as well as Chinese journals. In addition, they applied for more than 100 national invention patents, among them 60 patents were authorized, some of which have already been implemented in commercial applications. Prof. He, as the first award winner, won the National Technology Invention Award (China, Second Class) in 2011, the National Science and Technology Progress Award (China, Second Class) in 2014, and the National Natural Science Award (China, Second Class) in 2019. Overall, they have made substantial contributions for air pollution control in China and achieved good social and economic benefits.
